What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you comment
If you comment on a blog we collect some information to protect against spam. This includes the posters IP address and browser user agent string. It’s worth noting that the data in the comment becomes publicly available so please do not share anything sensitive in there.
The lawful basis for this data collection is legitimate interest.
When you submit a contact form
Contact form data is not processed by the website, it is submitted directly to the Welsh Activity Holidays email servers which are hosted securely and in compliance with regulation. Contact form completions are only used for the purpose of contacting you regarding the initial query.
The lawful basis for this data collection is contract. Data is only held for the reasonable time required to process your enquiry and in the case that you choose to use our services then only for the purpose of following up any after service queries.
Cookies we use
We make it very easy to give and withdraw consent, this is to improve your experience and ensure you have control over your data at all times.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your local device (e.g. computer, laptop, mobile). They allow a website to recognise the device and process your preferences and actions.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. We make every effort to check and ensure data privacy compliance whenever embedding content from other websites.
As an example, if there is a YouTube video embedded on this website and you watch it whilst logged into your YouTube account YouTube will record this activity to improve the way they recommend videos to you, just as if you’d watched it or anything else on their website.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
We store information relating to the following types of data subjects for up to the timescale stated below. This ‘countdown’ starts from the last point of contact.
• Leads – 1 year
• Past Clients – 3 years
• Associations – 3 years
• Suppliers – Up until all related customer contracts end plus 3 years
What rights you have over your data
You have the right to request the data I hold on you if you made an enquiry for our services. You have the right to delete your comment or request it be deleted if you choose to. To do this please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and make a data request.
How we protect your data
All data is stored on encrypted and secure devices. All external servers where data is stored are based within the EU and comply with relevant regulations and are protected by firewalls and security technology. All companies involved with Welsh Activity Holidays’ data storage and processing are registered in the EU and comply with relevant regulations.
What data breach procedures we have in place
We selected our data partners based on their reliability and security. They have all taken data protection legislation seriously and have made every effort to stay compliant. With this in mind it is safe to say that if there is a data breach through a supplier then Welsh Activity Holidays will be informed accordingly. In addition, if there is a data breach due to a mistake on our part we will inform all relevant third parties.
